###COVID-19 MCO: The duration of This course has been extended from 29 May to 26 July 2020 due to the Movement Control Order.>>>>

This course is a continuation of Plant Design Project I and comprises of plant design in detail. A process has been selected for a chemical plant, the overall safety aspects assessed and the mass and energy balances performed. The groups will now design individual major equipment as identified in MS2. Students will be evaluated on the basis of whether the design is feasible on aspects of technical, economic, environmental and societal impact. Students will be required to apply commercially available simulation software to design and evaluate their designs.

The purpose of the project is to provide the students with experience in the detailed plant design in teams and to optimize their initial designs by considering economic, health and safety, environmental and societal impact.
