This course uses Project Based Learning alongside lectures and topical assignments. Within PBL, field work in the community or Nutrition in Community Engagement (NICE) for this semester requires students to plan a small, suitable nutrition intervention project to improve dietary intake in the community. Every student will get to do at least one oral presentation. Every student is encouraged to observe and reflect on a nutrition project in the community with one other student. Alternatively, students could choose to do a writing assignment, which addresses a nutrition issue of public health concern.
